Florida’s new legislation introduces a presumption of equal timesharing between parents in custody disputes, encouraging more balanced co-parenting arrangements.

New York has eliminated mandatory mediation for high-conflict family law cases, allowing courts to fast-track hearings where mediation may not be effective.

Texas now allows non-biological parents, such as stepparents or guardians, to petition for custody under revised family law statutes. This amendment prioritizes the child’s best interests in custody disputes.

California has introduced a streamlined process for uncontested divorces, reducing filing times and paperwork requirements. This change aims to make divorce proceedings more efficient for families.
